Like many other manufacturers during the Second World War, The Carby Corporation produced a catalogue of Defense related parts. In 1965, the original owners of Carby (whose name is created from the collection of their last names): Careu, Albino, Rubenko, Blondin and Yacbonus, transferred ownership to longtime employee, Roy T. Nelson. Roy had worked during the ‘Munitions Era’ of the 1940’s and managed the company through its lean, post-war years, when government contracts had all but dried up. In 1976, his son, Joel, assumed ownership of the business. With an urgent desire to contemporize the small companies manufacturing practices, Joel brought much needed business expertise. Joel Nelson transformed the company, modernizing its workflow and cementing its reputation as a industry leader.

In 1996, the business completed construction of a new, state-of-the-art facility at 1121 Echo Lake Road, in Watertown, CT. Today, Carby is a standard bearer in deep drawn metals processing, serving customers worldwide at high volume.
